Create new backup schedules

You can create backup schedules for NAS shares. At the time of writing backups can only be done locally on the HCS. In a future release there will be the ability to create offline (encrypted) backups. The backups are done incremental, meaning that the first backup will be a full backup and sequential backups will just be the changes that happened since the last backup. This allows for you to make backups often without filling up the disk space with too many copies of existing data. During restore you can just select the date you want to restore from.

To create a new backup schedule navigate to Filer and click on Backups.

At the User Backups card select New to create a new backup schedule.

Select the Source Share you want to backup and click Next.
Select the Folder you want to backup and click Next.
Select the Destination Share you want to backup to and click Next.
Select the Destination Folder of the share you want to backup to and click Next.
Select a Backup Schedule, either every hour, every 3 hours, every 6 hours, every day, every week or every month.
Check the checkbox Start Backup Now to create the first backup after saving the schedule and click Finish.

In the overview of User Backups you can see your new backup schedule created.
